    Sure, Richard Branson started the Virgin family of airlines, but the billionaire business visionary is involved in a lot more than air travel. Branson races his own yachts -- which have included the 105-foot Necker Belle and 99-foot Virgin Money. In 2008, he famously gunned for the trans-Atlantic sailing record but had to abandon the attempt.

    Branson, soon to turn 61, has launched two other efforts for sea and sky: In 2009 he launched Virgin Galactic, a division that offers private citizens a trip into space for close to $300,000. And just this past April, Branson unveiled an 18-foot, single-person submarine dubbed the Oceanic.
