1978 Mercury Marquis By the end of the 1970s, the era of the full-size two-door was coming to an end with cars like the Marquis that were almost parodies of themselves: enormous front hoods and rear decks but very little space inside for more than two passengers. This one weighed two tons plus and was more than 19 feet long. The following year, the Marquis went on a diet and lost one foot and 800 pounds. |
